1. Who we are
HostNest is provided by Techwave Innovations (“we”, “us” or “our”). HostNest helps short-let property owners organise properties, bookings, operational tasks, bills, occupancy information and financial summaries.

2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the HostNest iOS and iPadOS application and this website. It does not replace Apple’s privacy policy or the terms that govern Apple ID, iCloud, App Store purchases, notifications or device services.
3. Information you enter into HostNest
Depending on how you use the app, HostNest may handle:
- Property names, addresses, room counts, nightly rates, cleaner names, Wi-Fi details and check-in instructions.
- Guest names, booking platforms, dates, guest counts, rates, discounts and booking status.
- Cleaning, garden work and utilities tasks, notes, due dates, estimated costs, actual costs and completion status.
- Bills, payment categories, amounts, frequencies, due dates, notes and payment status.
- Calculated occupancy, revenue, expenses, profit and report data.
- App preferences such as selected currency, notification settings and iCloud sync choice.
You decide what to enter. You should only add guest or third-party information where you have a lawful reason to keep it and should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information.
4. Local storage
HostNest stores its operational records locally in the app’s protected storage on your Apple device. This allows the app to work without an internet connection. iOS controls access to the app’s storage and normally removes it when the app is deleted.
If HostNest is removed and no usable iCloud backup exists, locally stored records may be permanently lost.
5. iCloud backup and cross-device sync
HostNest Pro users may enable iCloud backup and sync. When enabled, HostNest sends an encoded backup of app records to the user’s private CloudKit database. Apple associates that private database with the user’s Apple ID.
- The backup is not stored in a public CloudKit database.
- Other HostNest users cannot browse the backup.
- We do not use iCloud records for advertising or profiling.
- A newer backup may restore data after reinstalling HostNest or on another supported Apple device signed in to the same iCloud account.
- Disabling sync stops future uploads but does not automatically delete the existing private CloudKit record.
Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s services and privacy terms. Availability can depend on Apple ID status, device settings, connectivity and Apple service availability.
6. Subscriptions and payments
HostNest Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes payment information, billing, renewal, cancellation and purchase history. HostNest receives transaction and entitlement information needed to determine whether Pro features are active. We do not receive your full card or bank details.
7. Notifications
If you enable notifications, HostNest schedules local alerts for tasks and bills that are due or overdue. Notification permission is controlled by iOS. Alert content may be visible on the lock screen depending on your device notification settings.
8. Reports and sharing
HostNest can generate PDF and CSV files containing selected property, booking, financial, task or bill information. These files are created for you and may be shared through the iOS share sheet. Once you export or send a file, its handling depends on the destination you choose.
9. Website information
This website is hosted using Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard network and security information such as IP address, browser type, request time and requested page to deliver and protect the site. We do not add advertising cookies, behavioural tracking pixels or third-party analytics to this site.
If you email support, we receive the information contained in your message, your email address and any attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond and resolve the request.
10. Why information is processed
HostNest processes app information to:
- Provide the features you request.
- Save and present your records.
- Calculate operational and financial summaries.
- Generate reports and exports.
- Schedule requested reminders.
- Restore and synchronise data when iCloud sync is enabled.
- Confirm subscription entitlement and provide support.
11. Information we do not use
HostNest does not use your app records for:
- Cross-app tracking.
- Targeted advertising.
- Selling personal information.
- Training third-party advertising profiles.
- Unrelated marketing.
12. Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you edit them, delete them or remove the app. An iCloud backup remains subject to the user’s iCloud account and Apple’s retention behaviour. Cancelling Pro does not delete local records, but cloud backup and sync may stop.
To remove local records, use the relevant delete controls in HostNest or remove the app. For assistance regarding HostNest-created private CloudKit data, contact support.
13. Security
HostNest relies on Apple platform protections including app sandboxing, device access controls, StoreKit transaction verification and private CloudKit databases. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device, Apple ID and passcode secure, and avoid sharing exported files with unintended recipients.
14. Children
HostNest is a business and property operations tool and is not directed to children. It is not intended for use by anyone who cannot lawfully manage business or property information in their jurisdiction.
15. International processing
Apple and Cloudflare may process information in countries where they or their service providers operate. Their own legal terms and safeguards govern that processing.
16. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning personal information. Most HostNest app data is directly visible and editable in the app. You can disable notifications, disable iCloud sync, export supported records and delete records using app controls.

17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when HostNest features, legal requirements or service providers change. The updated policy will show a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through an App Store update.
